OH HEY, I HAD A BABY

So it happened (4 months ago). This gorgeous little man joined the world. We named him George. I thought it was pretty cute and so is George Weasley and Ty's great grandfather's? name was Alfred George, so it worked for us. It was either that or Fred (I know what you are thinking and you would be absolutely right). His middle name is Scott, after my dad.

I am still completely amazed (and relieved!) at how different his birth was to Nancy's. Hers was long, slow and totally exhausting, to the point that I was unaware of even having an epidural. His on the other hand, was overwhelmingly intense, very painful, and over within just five hours. Nancy's was quiet, I didn't even feel like talking. With him, I just wanted to yell and kick and I'm pretty sure at one point I was punching the side of the bath and roaring. Whatever works, right?

Some things were just the same. The delivery room was crowded with relatives* and the overwhelming relief and love and awe when he was put into my arms was just as powerful as with Nancy.

*People always ask me if this bothers me, and it truly doesn't. It's like I have my own personal support team cheering me on!

George has fit into this family so well. He's his own little personality already. A total chubster, he has put on so much weight since birth that he's off the charts! He'll only smile for you if he really wants to, and when he laughs, they sound like little grunts, like "Heh. Heh. Heh. Heh." He completely adores his sister. Whenever she's in his sight he'll follow her with his eyes and if he's crying, Nancy will lay down next to him and he'll abruptly stop and smile at her.

It was no joke when people warned me that two kids instead of one take up a lot more time. I feel like I've gotten into the swing of things faster then with Nance though. Less trackpants and a generally tidier living area (but let's not even discuss the ridiculous piles of laundry that need to be folded in our bedroom).

So aside from the unfolded laundry and the constant back-ache from carrying this little heavy-weight champ, life is pretty wonderful.
